The Definitive Leadpages Overview

Visit http://theindependentmusician.com/leadpages to check out Leadpages and try them out! This video is more than just a review of Leadpages.

This video is a DETAILED overview of LeadPages and why you should choose them over Optimizepress, Megaphone, and all the rest.

Leadpages is your one stop stop to creating sales pages, opt-in pages, squeeze pages, and any other landing page you can think of.

Leadpages is incredibly easy and allows you to get a page up very quickly.

Here are just a few reasons why Leadpages crushes the competition:

The Definitive Leadpages Overview

THE definitive Overview

Easy To Use

Leadpages is quite possibly the easiest SaaS application I can think of. Not just with lead generation, but in cloud based software in general.

When you consider how convenient Leadpages is to the alternatives, it makes it literally an easy button.

Designing Landing pages that are optimized to collect leads into a web form that integrates with something like Aweber or Mailchimp is not an easy task that you can just sit down and do in 5 minutes.

Leadpages takes care of all of that.

If you're a Wordpress user, you can get the Leadpages plugin to easily publish any one of your pages from leadpages directly on your site.

Think about a 404 page for a second!

With the Leadpages plugin you can make any Leadpage your 404 page, thereby getting optins from borken links and people's errors!

Pretty awesome.

Sort By Highest Conversion Rate

Leadpages is constantly testing their landing pages, including all the pages that their users are actively using.

When choosing a new template for a page, Leadpages let's you sort by conversion rate, placing the highest performing pages at the top.

Testing is vital when it comes to optimizing your online efforts. Leadpages is awesome at this.

But there's another reason Leadpages rocks:

Leadpages is an innovative leader in the ever evolving online lead-generation industry.

With their creative way of thinking, they have come up with several other lead-gen features like "Leadboxes", "Leadlinks", and their upcoming "Leaddigits" for mobile SMS lead-generation.

They're constantly improving their software and getting stronger by the second.

If you are a designer yourself, you can also submit your own landing page templates to the Leadpages marketplace and get paid!

Now, I'm not a designer, but if I were I would be all over this.

What I am though is an affiliate marketer, which brings me to my last point on Leadpages.

They have quite the affiliate program.

Zealots and fans boys of Leadpages who do videos like this one, can get paid for spreading the word. And quite nicely too....

If you're just getting started in building an online business, you shouldn't wait to start building your email list.

Aweber VS Mailchimp

If you want to purchase Aweber, please consider purchasing through my affiliate link: http://theindependentmusician.com/aweber

Aweber or Mailchimp? Is one better than the other?

What about Constant Contact?

What about MadMimi?

There are many email marketing services, but the two that are constantly at the top of the charts are Aweber and Mailchimp.

Aweber Vs Mailchimp

Aweber was started in 1998 to serve sales people primarily as an autoresponder service to follow up with their leads.

Mailchimp was founded three years later in 2001, as a webbased email marketing application for marketers.

Both have been dominating the email marketing space for over a decade, which in internet years is a LONG TIME!

Let's list the pros and cons of each:

Aweber

PROS:

  • Fantastic email tracking and statistics
  • An intuitive autoresponder for follow up right out of the gate
  • A GREAT affiliate program

CONS:

  • older designs and template system
  • no FREE option

Maichimp

PROS:

  • A FREE account for up to 2,000 subscribers or 12,000 emails
  • A simple drag and drop design feature for your campaigns
  • A user interface that's easy on the eyes and contemporary
  • A light hearted company culture laced with humor and artistic thinking

CONS:

  • The FREE account is very limited. No autoresponder for example.
  • Mailchimp's tracking and statistics isn't as accurate as Aweber
  • The autoresponder sequence builder isn't as intuitive
  • No affiliate program

In the end BOTH are great services, but I had to make Aweber the champion.

I started out as a Mailchimp user and found that a lot of the tracking was wrong, when it came to segmenting users according to activity.

I would segment folks who didn't open or click on specific campaigns off on to another email following up with why they didn't open or click.

Many said that they had.

This means that Mailchimp's tracking wasn't accurate.

I switched to Aweber and I haven't had the same problem at all.

What do you think?

Do you use either Aweber or Mailchimp?

Who wins in the end for you?

Let me know in the comments!

Soundcloud For Podcasting

If you're a podcaster and you want a chance to win $100 to Sweetwater Music (perhaps you need a podcast mic), head over to this link: http://freemusicgift.com

Soundcloud For Podcasting

In this video I show you how to use Soundcloud as your media host while keeping your own RSS feed using the PowerPress plugin for Wordpress.

Soundcoud is quickly gaining speed in the media hosting world. Many popular podcasters are using Soundcloud as their media host for the following reasons.

Reasons To Use Soundcloud For Your Podcast Media Hosting:

1) It's Cheaper For Active Podcasters

It's cheaper to use Soundcloud for media hosting when you post a lot of episodes.

Let's say you do a show twice a week like me. With Libsyn I would currently pay a little over $20 a month for the amount of media hosting I would need.

If I did a daily show, I would pay over $40 a month.

With SoundCloud I get UNLIMITED audio storage for $15 a month.

But there's another reason....

2) SoundCloud is to audio as YouTube is to video

SoundCloud has a quickly growing user base of content creators, musicians, and fans of audio in general. By using SoundCloud as your media host, your podcast subscribers' downloads count as plays on SoundCloud.

This means that you can quickly get visible even if you have a modestly sized audience.

Under "explore" and then "trending audio" (not trending music), the play numbers aren't huge. It wouldn't be hard for a podcast to be discovers within SoundCloud itself.

The social / shareable element makes SoundCloud unique as well.

As I'm sure you know, users can comment on the timeline of your audio right within the audio player itself.

Which brings me to the next reason....

3) The audio player is stunningly unmatched, and you can embed it ANYWHERE.

There's not much else to say about that....

THE COMMON OBJECTIONS TO SOUNDCLOUD.....

Soundcloud For Podcasters

"You can't control your feed...."

This is true, but you simply do what I do (along with many other savvy SoundCloud podcasters).

Simply get the mp3 URL by getting the audio ID # (found in the embed code) and the title of your audio file, and plug it into this:

http://feeds.soundcloud.com/stream/"ID Number"-"Track-Title".mp3

Now you have direct download file of your audio mp3, and can copy and paste it when you publish the episode at Wordpress.

I suggest you use the PowerPress plugin by Blubrry.

"It's too new!!"

Well that's just fuddy-duddy my friend!!

Haha.

I suggest you at least use SoundCloud as a secondary option if it still makes you nervous.

The reality is this: I have heard Jamie (podcast guy at SoundCloud) say that they are very eager to work with podcasters to preserve the freedom of the podcaster while give them the tools to move forward with great technology.

Something like that....

Soundcloud for podcast (the right way) is the way I've decided to go!
